A. K. P. Chinraj is a political leader from Tamil Nadu and a member of the Kongunadu Makkal Desia Katchi. He is the incumbent Member of Parliament from Namakkal constituency. He was born on June 1, 1965, and is the son of K. Palaniappan Gounder and Chettiyammal. He completed his B.Sc in chemistry from Jamal Mohamed College in 1987.
His foray into politics began in 2011 when he was appointed as the President of the Tamil Nadu Poultry Farmers’ Association. He made a massive upgrade on DMK's ticket when he was elected as a Member of Parliament in 2019. He won the 17th Lok Sabha elections from the Namakkal constituency, earning himself his first term in the lower house of the Indian Parliament.
Despite belonging to the Kongunadu Makkal Desia Katchi, he contested and won the elections on his alliance party DMK’s ticket, showcasing his dominance in the state's political landscape.
