Gujarat's Axar Patel made his entry into cricket at the young age of 18, in a Vijay Hazare Trophy match against Mumbai and his Ranji Trophy debut in November 2012. But he grabbed the spotlight in the next season, when he contributed with both bat and the ball. His rising stature. He started his IPL career with Mumbai Indians in the sixth edition of the tournament, but he remained a fringe player for MI. Kings XI Punjab bought the youngster and Patel's rise started with the franchise. In his first season, he ended with 17 wickets and also contributed with the bat, scoring crucial runs coming lower down the middle order. In 59 IPL matches, he has taken 58 wickets at an average of 26.67. His performance saw him coming into the national side in limited-overs format. In 38 ODIs, he has taken 45 wickets at an average of 31.31.
