Chennai, Feb 24 (ANI): Nalini Sriharan, a convict in the Rajiv Gandhi assassination case, left the Vellore jail on Wednesday to attend her father's last rites in Chennai. She was escorted by ten cops. Nalini was granted parole on Tuesday for 12 hours to attend her father's funeral, who died in Tirunelvelli. According to the parole condition, Nalini will have to report back in Vellore prison before 8 p.m. today. Nalini and three others, including her husband Murugan, were originally awarded the death sentence after they were convicted for their role in the assassination of former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi and have been behind the bars for the last 25 years.

Mumbai, Feb 12 (ANI): The 26/11 Mumbai terror attack convict David Coleman Headley’s 5th day of deposition began on Friday. Deposing before a special Mumbai court through video conferencing, he revealed that Lakhvi told him that 26/11 attack will be revenge to all bomb blasts planned by India in Pakistan. He further said that he visited Siddhivinayak Temple, made a video of the premises and purchased 15-20 sacred thread for 26/11 attackers so that they would look like Indians. He also told that he chose Cuffe Parade as the landing site for 26/11 attackers after visiting Gateway of India and Cuffe Parade. When he returned to Pakistan after his Mumbai visit from April 9th-15th, 2008, he met Sajid Mir and Major Iqbal to show them video of possible landing sites in India. He told the court that he was in Pakistan from April 15 to June 30, 2008, but during this period somewhere in May, he visited New York and Philadelphia.

New Delhi, Feb 10 (ANI): The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) members staged a protest outside the office of Jawaharlal Nehru University ( JNU) Vice Chancellor on Wednesday to vent their ire over a programme describing the execution of 2001 Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru as 'judicial killing'. The varsity witnessed violent clashes between two students groups last night over this programme, following which the police personnel were deployed to maintain the law and order situation on the campus. The incident was followed by the cultural evening organised at the Sabarmati Dhaba by ten students, who were earlier members of the Democratic Students' Union (DSU). The ABVP has also demanded that the ten students behind the event must be rusticated with immediate effect. One of the protestors said they are protesting against the "anti-national" activity on the campus and strict actions should be taken.

Muzaffarnagar, Jan 14 (ANI): Mother of three committed suicide in Chapra village of Muzaffarnagar after her perpetrators made a clip of her being raped and circulated it in public. Police has arrested the culprit. A case has been lodged against the convict but the police is yet to take action.
