Over 70% of UG seats go unfilled in state-run colleges of West Bengal

In comparison, last year, 4.44 lakh seats were filled, he added. In the first phase of counselling, 2.30 lakh students were enrolled, while in the second phase, over 39,000 students got admitted, according to an official of the Higher Education Department.

Outlining the key features of the online facility, the university said that the provisional certificates will be processed and issued only through the student portal.

The university has advised candidates to ensure they have sufficient funds in their bank accounts for on-the-spot fee payment, as failure to complete the transaction will lead to cancellation of the allotted seat.
