HC asks Punjab to pay Rs 10 lakh fine after its DSP ‘authored’ custody death

The Punjab and Haryana High Court Monday slapped a penalty of Rs 10 lakh on Punjab for “authoring” the custodial death of a youth,and trying cover it up with the help of doctors in 2004.

The Punjab and Haryana High Court came down heavily on the Punjab Police for its failure to arrest a deputy superintendent of police and his son for their alleged involvement in human trafficking.
