New Delhi, Jan 09 (ANI): President of All India Mahila Congress Shobha Oza on Saturday condemned the ruling party of politicising educational institutes to fulfill its political aspirations. She said that the Films and Television Institute of India (FTII) and now Delhi University (DU), are its latest arenas. Oza accused Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Subramaniam Swamy for bringing various controversial issues in the DU. She further said that the Vice Chancellor of the university should take a note of it and stop such things within the university.

New Delhi/Mumbai, Jan 07 (ANI): Congress leader Shobha Oza on Thursday came in support of the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) students and alleged that the BJP is trying to run some institutions by imposing the RSS ideology. She stressed that earlier also students protested for a long time but no action was taken by the government. Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Majeed Memon also criticised the appointment of Gajendra Chauhan and said that students are upset with him but government did not pay any heed to their concerns.

Over 20 FTII students detained

PUNE, Jan 07 (ANI): The police detained around 20 students, who were staging a protest against Film and Television Institute (FTII) chairman Gajendra Chauhan, outside the institute’s campus here on Thursday. The students had blocked the entrance of the institute to prevent Chauhan from entering the campus. One of the students who was detained said the protest is against the wrongful appointment of Gajendra Chauhan. He further told that it was a peaceful protest but still they were manhandled and beaten by the police officials. Another detained student described the intervention of police as nothing but dictatorship.
