Ishant Sharma

Ishant Sharma is an Indian right arm fast bowler. His rise was rapid in the domestic circuit and he made his Ranji debut for Delhi at the age of 18. Ishant made his international debut in 2007 against Bangladesh, thanks to an injury to Munaf Patel. It was in Australia where he shone, swinging the ball both ways and leaving the Australians, most prominently Ricky Ponting, flummoxed. Ishant's debut season was nothing short of sensational with the Australian tour being followed by a notable performance against South Africa, followed by 15 wickets in four Tests in the succesful home series against Australia in 2008, and a couple of strong shows in Sri Lanka in ODIs. Unfortunately, he has hardly lived up to the promise he has shown. He still has been a crucial bowler for India and spearheaded his team's victory against England at Lord\'s with his spell of 7 for 74.
