New Delhi, Jan 26 (ANI): Janata Dal United leader Sharad Yadav on Tuesday came in support of the women activists protesting against the entry ban in Shani Shingnapur temple, saying that women who belong to weaker sections have been facing discrimination for thousands of years. Yadav added that the Central Government should take initiative to remove such discrimination against women. He further stated that people who are preventing these women from entering the temple should be put behind the bars.

Patna, Jan 24 (ANI): Janata Dal (United) (JD-U) MLA Sarfaraz Alam, accused of abusing a couple on a train, was today arrested by the Railway Police. According to the complaint, the incident occurred on January 17 when Alam allegedly misbehaved with the couple on board the train. An FIR was registered against him with GRP Patna the next day. The MLA was allegedly travelling without ticket and was drunk. A footage of the purported incident was also aired by the media. Meanwhile, Sarfaraz Alam after reaching Railway Police Station, maintained his stand and said that allegations against him are baseless.

Patna, Jan 23 (ANI): Janata Dal (United) leader Vashishtha Narayan Singh on Saturday said on the basis of primary evidence, they believe the Janata Dal-United (JD-U) MLA Sarfaraz Alam is wrong, so the party suspended him. New Delhi, Jan 08 (ANI): With Amitabh Bachchan set to replace Aamir Khan as the brand ambassador of Incredible India campaign run by the Tourism Ministry, Janata Dal (United) leader KC Tyagi on Friday slammed the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led government for removing Khan and dubbed the move as 'culturally intolerant'. Tyagi said that Amitabh Bachhan is a great actor and he doesn’t have any objection on this name (for Incredible India campaign). He added that Aamir Khan was doing his job properly but the current government could not accept his comments.
