Manish Tewari, a notable personality in Indian politics, has made significant contributions to the country's political landscape. Born on December 8, 1965, Tewari is a member of the Indian National Congress and currently represents Anandpur Sahib in the 17th Lok Sabha.

His involvement in student politics was an inspiration for his political path. In addition to leading the Indian Youth Congress from 1998 to 2000, he also led the National Students Union of India from 1986 to 1993.

In 2009, Tewari contested the Lok Sabha elections from Ludhiana and emerged victorious, defeating Shiromani Akali Dal’s candidate Gurcharan Singh Galib by a significant margin. He served as a Member of Parliament from Ludhiana from 2009 to 2014.

He was appointed as the Minister of Information and Broadcasting from 2012 to 2014. His tenure as a minister was marked by significant contributions to the country's information and broadcasting policies.

He made a comeback in the national politics by winning the 2019 Lok Sabha elections from Anandpur Sahib seat to secure his second term as a member of the lower house of the Indian Parliament.

In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, he shifted his electoral battleground to Chandigarh but still managed to come out victorious to get his third term in the lower house of the Indian Parliament.
