AAP should clear all pending dues of MCD workers: Union leader

New Delhi, Feb 08 (ANI): Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) union leader RB Uthwal, on Monday said that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Government should clear all dues of workers pending since 2003 if it wanted to put an end to the ongoing strike. Uthwal further said that the wages given by the Delhi Government on the condition of that temporary workers being removed from their respective duties won't be accepted. He stressed that the only way to end the strike is to give permanent jobs to these workers and clear all pending dues. He further asked the Delhi High Court to pay attention to the condition of poor workers and their families before giving its final judgement on the strike.

MCD workers protest against Delhi Government

New Delhi, Jan 27 (ANI): Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) workers protested outside Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's residence over non-payment of dues, which are due for months. It is resulting in immense financial burden on them. This is for the second time this month that the MCD employees are on a strike. The MCD officials said as a result of the protest, MCD services will be affected for some days. The cash-strapped North and East Delhi civic bodies have been unable to pay salaries to workers for three to four months now. There are over one lakh sanitation workers waiting for their salaries.
