BJP-backed candidate wins MLC poll in Telangana

The counting of votes for the two Teachers' constituencies and the Medak-Nizamabad-Adilabad-Karimnagar Graduates' constituency was taken up on Monday. Polling for these three MLC seats was held on February 27 in a preferential voting system using ballot papers.

Out of the 11 MLCs retiring on July 27, four belong to BJP, two to Congress while NCP, Shiv Sena, Shiv Sena (UBT), Peasants and Workers Party and Rashtriya Samaj Party have one MLC each.  The election of these 11 MLCs will be conducted through a secret ballot.
