He added that the sport was approved after taking care of all the safeguards and without practicing cruelty against the animals.

He also expressed gratitude to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) party chief Amit Shah and Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar for acquiescing with the Tamil community. The controversial bull-taming sport is celebrated every year during Pongal.
