In yet another season brimming with promise, Rajasthan Royals flattered to deceive in the final stretch. After springing to eight points in the first seven games, RR rarely got a win in the latter stages and eventually finished fifth, just outside the Playoffs bracket.

While the Royals have rarely been lacking in talent, consistency has been a tough buy for Sanju Samson's men. Under the wicket-keeper-batter's leadership, RR made a phenomenal run into the IPL 2022 final but fell in the last hurdle against Gujarat Titans.

Samson is the second-most experienced leader of the Royals since the early days of late Australian maestro Shane Warne, who marshalled the team to their only IPL title in the inaugural season in 2008. An exuberant mix of youth and experience continues to be the motto of the Royals. With a solid core manned by Jos Buttler, Samson, Yuzvendra Chahal, R Ashwin, Trent Boult, and Yashasvi Jaiswal, RR will continue to be a serious contender for the title in the IPL 2024 season.
