Nepal, Jan 17 (ANI): Since the promulgation of the new constitution in Nepal last year, the Madheshi community has been protesting as their “interests have been neglected”. The United Nations delegation visited the border area near India’s Raxaul district and met agitating protestors. The protestors claimed that not only their demands have been suppressed, but they have also been tortured by the Nepal administration. Talks between the government and the Madheshi community have not yielded any results. The protestors rejected government's plan, saying it did not meet their demands to offer adequate national representation.
