Simran: A Versatile Career Spanning Tamil Cinema and Beyond Rishibala Naval, known professionally as Simran, is a prominent figure in South Indian cinema, having also worked in Hindi, Telugu, and Kannada films. Born on April 4, 1976, Simran’s career showcases versatility across acting, producing, choreography, and playback singing. Her cinematic journey began in 1997 with a successful debut in Tamil films, Once More and V.I.P., earning her the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut - South. Subsequent successes include Kannathil Muthamittal (2002), winning her the Filmfare Award for Best Actress - Tamil, and Vaaranam Aayiram (2008), which garnered her the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress - Tamil. These films solidified her position as a leading actress. After a career break, Simran returned in 2014.
