Sushilkumar Sambhaji Shinde is a seasoned politician from Maharashtra with a distinguished career in the Indian National Congress (INC).
He served as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra from January 2003 to November 2004, where he became the first Dalit to hold this position.
Shinde has also held significant national roles, including Minister of Home Affairs and Minister of Power.
His tenure as a Home Minister saw two major decisions: hanging the terrorists Afzal Guru and Ajmal Kasab.
