Delhi sees first heatwave as temperature crosses 45°C in some parts, orange alert issued

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) reported that the Ayanagar station logged a maximum of 45.3°C — 3.2 degrees above the normal for the area — officially triggering heatwave conditions under the Met department’s criteria. The minimum temperature, too, remained elevated at 28°C, around 0.5 degrees above normal.
