The Standing Committee on Finance has stressed on the need for forward-looking surveys by the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI) or NITI Aayog for private capex by industry and region to understand trends and help suppliers prepare better for equipment, real estate and workforce requirements.
The committee stressed on the need for these surveys after the Finance Ministry told it that MoSPI has historical private capex data as part of national accounts statistics.
