12th Plan could touch R4 lakh crore

The Gujarat government has stared preparing the state’s 12th Five-Year-Plan and aimed at achieving a 12 per cent growth rate.

The Gujarat government has stared preparing the state’s 12th Five-Year-Plan (2012-17) and aimed at achieving a 12 per cent growth rate.

The 12th plan may range between Rs 2.5 lakh crore and Rs 4 lakh crore,more than double the size of the Rs 1.11 lakh crore 11th Five-Year-Plan (2007-12),said officials in the Gujarat Administrative Department.

preparing the 12th Five-Year-Plan. It will be submitted to the Planning Commission in the next few months. We achieved the targeted 11.2 per cent growth in the 11th plan. This time we have kept a minimum target of 12 per cent GSDP growth per annum.”

He added: “Our focus is to maintain the growth in the agriculture sector with overall rise in other sectors like industry and the service sector. We are quite confident that agriculture will

will be completed during the 12th plan. The plan will also keep the human development index (HDI) up-gradation target in focus.”

The state’s 9th plan (1997-2002) was of Rs 47,000 crore,10th plan (2002-2007) was of Rs 52,000 crore and the 11th plan (2007-12) was of Rs 1.11 lakh crore.
