70 new buses to ply daily between Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar

The service will benefit over 5,000 employees working in Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar, as per a government release, and citizens visiting the Secretariat for various purposes.

Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel Monday launched the ‘Sachivalaya Point Service’ under which 70 new buses have been deployed by the Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC) to ply daily between Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar.

The service will benefit over 5,000 employees working in Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar, as per a government release, and citizens visiting the Secretariat for various purposes.

The state government plans to acquire new buses annually to improve passenger convenience and financial assistance is provided to the corporation for the due purpose, the statement said.

At present, the GSRTC manages a daily fleet of over 8,000 buses, covering 33 lakh km and serving more than 25 lakh passengers in the state.
