Ahmedabad tops land grabbing list

With the rise in land prices in the state,the cases of land grabbing by mafias are increasing in all the major cities like Ahmedabad,Vadodara and Surat.

With the rise in land prices in the state,the cases of land grabbing by mafias are increasing in all the major cities like Ahmedabad,Vadodara and Surat. The special investigation team (SIT),formed for the investigation of land scams across the state,has received 1,017 complaints from Ahmedabad district in last two years,said Chief Minister Narendra Modi in a written reply to various MLAs in the Assembly on Friday.

Vadodara district has witnessed 132 cases in two years,while Surat district has 79 cases and Anand district has two cases in last two years. Of 1,017 cases of Ahmedabad district,the government has already taken action on 56 complaints and around 310 accused have been booked in this connection,Modi said.
