Suspended Deputy Superintendent of Police Dr Narendra Amin, who has moved an application seeking pardon and permission to turn approver in the Sohrabuddin case, has objected to the presence of other accused during the hearing of his approver application stating that their presence is putting pressure on him.
Amin moved an application in this regard on Tuesday in the court of Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate,A Y Dave.
Amins application has been opposed by other eight accused, including D G Vanzara and Rajkumar Pandiyan, who want to remain present in the court during the hearing. They are expected to file an application against Amins plea seeking permission to remain present in the court during the hearing on Wednesday.
Amin has moved an application under the provisions of the Code of Criminal Procedure seeking pardon and courts permission to turn approver in the case. The application was kept for hearing on Tuesday.
However, due to unavailability of Amins and CBIs lawyers at different times, the hearing was adjourned to November 2.
Following this,Amins lawyer Jagdish Ramani requested the court to make sure that other accused are not present in the court during the hearing.
The other accuseds lawyer,Preyas Limbachiya, objected to this stating that the accused have the right to remain present in the court to be acquainted with the developments of the case.
After a round of heated arguments,Ramani moved a formal application in the court. Whereas,Limbachiya told the court that he would move an application seeking permission to remain present in the court on Wednesday. The court is likely to pass an appropriate order after this.
