Bhatt dismayed at MLAs’ absence in House

Dismayed at the absence of the Congress members from the proceedings of the House on Monday,Assembly Speaker Ashok Bhatt said it was not proper for MLAs to remain absent in the House after asking questions.

Dismayed at the absence of the Congress members from the proceedings of the House on Monday,Assembly Speaker Ashok Bhatt said it was not proper for MLAs to remain absent in the House after asking questions.

Bhatt told the House that it costs a lot to the state government to reply to the starred questions of the elected representatives. He said today it took almost 21 days in preparing answers to the starred questions. He said a lot of energy and money was spent on the process and asked the members to realize the significance of the matter.

He also requested the members not to ask proxy questions.

The Speaker’s comment came after many Congress members remained absent in the House after asking several questions.

Among those Congress members who had asked questions and were absent included Iqbal Patel,Anilbhai Joshiara,Arjun Modhwadia,Farooq Sheikh and Gayasuddin Sheikh.
