The BSF on Monday rescued nine fishermen who were stranded in the marshy Sir Creek area near the Great Rann of Kutch after their boat capsized a week ago. Two of their colleagues died in the accident.
After receiving information that fishermen were stranded near the Savla Pir coast, the BSF rushed four boats to rescue them. The fishermen were brought to Koteshwar and later sent to a hospital. Condition of three of them was reported to be critical. When BSF troops rescued the fishermen, they were in a pitiable condition without food and water. They were completely dehydrated since it was a creek area, said BSF IG Arun Sinha.
The boat had set sail from Okha on August 17. BSF officials said the boat met with an accident on August 24 near Savla Pir coast.
