At least four armed men looted gold and silver jewellery worth Rs 12 lakh from two employees of an angadia (courier) firm while they were travelling on a scooter in Ahmedabad on Wednesday morning. The incident took place near Panchkuwa around 7.30 am.
Police said that they have arrested one person from Idar in Sabarkantha district in connection with the robbery.
According to the complaint lodged with the police, 44-year-old Dashrath J Patel and his colleague, Vishnubhai A Desai, were on their way to deliver a bag containing jewellery on a two wheeler when four men came on two motorcyles and snatched the bag from them.
The robbery was caught in a CCTV camera where two of the robbers are seen snatching the bag from the two employees while two other accomplices were seated on the motorcycle.
Patel told police that one of the assailants had country-made gun which misfired during the scuffle.
