Four arrested with stolen copper wires

The Special Operations Group of the local police busted a gang involved in theft of copper wires and arrested four persons here on Wednesday. SOG officials said they seized three tonnes of copper wires worth Rs 18 lakh,Rs 20 lakh in cash,a Tata Tempo and seven mobile phones. The SOG had received a tip-off that a mini truck with copper wires,which had gone missing from Vadodara,would be coming to Ahmedabad. They were caught near Vishala Circle here. Police said two of the arrested men belong to Vadodara and the rest from Mehsana and Gandhinagar.

Medical student ends life

Ahmedabad:Naresh Jadav,a PG student of NHL Municipal Medical College,succumbed to injuries on Wednesday,six days after he jumped off the V S Hospital building in Ahmedabad. He was reportedly upset after his college hiked fees.
