Gohil: Congress got many requests to meet Rahul, join Yatra

Sharing details of the Gujarat leg, the party's state president, Shaktisinh Gohil, said that many associations, workers and other individuals have come forward and expressed their desire to meet Gandhi.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is set to lead his Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra in Gujarat this week. The party’s mass outreach programme, which aims to cover 15 states in 66 days, will enter Gujarat on Thursday. By March 10, it plans to cover 400 km in seven districts of the state.

Sharing details of the Gujarat leg, the party’s state president, Shaktisinh Gohil, said that many associations, workers and other individuals have come forward and expressed their desire to meet Gandhi.

Rahul Gandhi who will enter Gujarat from Jhalod in Dahod at 3 pm on Thursday is scheduled to address 27 corner meetings and six public meetings. He will receive a welcome at more than 70 places, as per the party. “We have received a lot of requests from people of Gujarat who have expressed their desire to meet Rahul Gandhi and be a part of his yatra,” Gohil asserted.

He will meet tribal women in Dahod on March 8 and also visit Pavagadh temple the same day where as a part of International Women’s Day, a folk and cultural event by tribal women has been planned. He is also scheduled to visit Swaraj Ashram in Bardoli on the last day of his visit on March 10.

The youth “who have been exploited through the BJP government’s schemes like outsourcing and contract-based jobs, farmers, landless tribals of Kevadia, government employees, employee associations, Anganwadi workers, small traders, students, intellectuals, and educationists have contacted and expressed intent to be a part of Gandhi’s yatra,” Congress leaders claimed.
