GPSC defers preliminary recruitment exams due to local body polls

According to the post, the exams have been postponed in view of the voting scheduled for multiple local bodies in the state on February 16, when the date for preliminary examination was fixed.

The GPSC had issued an advertisement for the recruitment in November for the 2,283 Class II posts such as medical officer, subject tutors and insurance medical officer – Allopathy.

However, the Gujarat State Election Commission Tuesday announced the elections for Junagadh Municipal Corporation, 66 municipalities, three taluka panchayats, and mid-term elections of Botad and Wankaner municipalities in the state along with those seats of other local bodies which have fallen vacant for different reasons.

The Gujarat State Election Commission had fixed the voting for the election on February 16.

The GPSC Chairman in his post said now the preliminary examination will either be conducted on February 23 or March 2.  “The exam date will be declared soon,” Patel said.
