GSRTC launches Volvo bus from Rajkot to Ahmedabad airport

“We already have Volvo buses for Ahmedabad city, but this is the first bus that will directly go to the airport. There are a few people, mostly businessmen and tourists, who already regularly travel to the Ahmedabad airport from Rajkot. People can comfortably catch early morning flights using this bus,” said J B Karotra, Divisional Controller (Rajkot).

“Previously, these people used to get a bus to Iskcon (crossroads) and had to avail a taxi that is expensive for them. Now, there is an alternative for it,” he stated.

According to GSRTC, the traditional route to the airport used to take around five hours from Rajkot and this bus will make for an affordable option for the travellers.

“The response has been good so far. On the first day of the launch itself, we were able to fill 35 seats among the 42,” stated Karotra.
