Among several changes introduced in the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) regulations, a fresh provision has been brought for Class XII students of medical stream from next session. They can appear for the Maths exam in either the supplementary exam or as a private student in the main exams the following year.
The notification issued by the GSHSEB on Tuesday underlined amendments that have been implemented for Class XI and XII science streams (medical and non-medical). If a student of Class XII Group B (medical) fails to clear, s/he can re-appear either in Group A (non medical) or Group AB (both medical and non medical), as per the fresh regulations.
Also, a student who clears Class XI science stream Group A or Group B or Group AB can choose any of these groups in Class XII.
The amendments in the GSHSEB 2005 rules have been implemented to encourage students to take up Science streams in Class XI and XII as over the years, the number of such students has witnessed a decline in the state.
