Gujarat Gas net profit down by 69% this quarter

Gujarat Gas Company Ltd,the country’s largest natural gas distribution company,has registered 69% dip in profit after tax.

Gujarat Gas Company Ltd (GGCL),the country’s largest natural gas distribution company,has registered 69% dip in profit after tax (PAT),clocking Rs 52.8 crore for the April-June quarter of 2012. The company’s PAT stood at Rs 168.9 crore for the corresponding quarter in 2011.

Even if a quarter-on-quarter on comparison is made,the company’s PAT is down by 20% when compared to the figures of January-March 2011.

The net sales of the company also fell by 30%,registering Rs 765.9 crore for the April-June quarter,compared to 1,096.9 crore in the same quarter in 2011,a release on the Bombay Stock Exchange stated.
