Gurukul kids’ death: Mother faints while talking of lost son

The mother of one of the two Asaram Ashram students who were found dead in 2008 fainted on Wednesday while narrating her plight to Congress leader Shankersinh Vaghela,who visited their house where the fathers of the two children are on a fast-unto-death seeking justice.

Brothers Shantilal and Praful Vaghela,fathers of Dipesh (13) and Abhishek (12),the Motera-based gurukul students who had gone missing before being found dead days later,began their indefinite fast on Tuesday demanding that the Justice D Trivedi commission appointed by the state government to probe into the deaths be disbanded and CBI be roped in.

Today,Congress leaders Shankersinh Vaghela,Siddharth Patel and Narhari Amin visited the family. While Vaghela was speaking to Dipesh’s mother Lata,she broke down and fainted. Later,Amin said a doctor was called and she was fine now.

Meanwhile,DGP Chitranajan Singh said the Commission had all the powers to scrutinise the police investigation in the case done earlier. “We are and were always ready to give the documents and records to the family,” Singh added.

The two boys were found dead on the banks of Sabarmati river on July 3,2008,with parts of their bodies missing.
