IITGN, ISRO’s space applications centre offer joint PhD course

Fifty-six students got 57 medals — including 40 gold and 17 silver — for excellence in different categories such as academics, outstanding research, innovation, leadership, etc.

The Indian Institute of Technology in Gandhinagar (IITGN) on Saturday marked its 13th convocation ceremony, with 530 students graduating from the institution. Rishad Premji, executive chairman of Wipro Limited was the chief guest at the event.

IITGN Director Rajat Moona, on Saturday announced that the institute will begin a PhD programme in collaboration with ISRO’s Space Applications Centre (SAC) in Ahmedabad, starting 2024-25. Moona said: “Under this, scientists and engineers at SAC Ahmedabad will have the opportunity to be inducted into this collaborative PhD programme.”

The students were awarded with degrees. Fifty-six students got 57 medals — including 40 gold and 17 silver — for excellence in different categories such as academics, outstanding research, innovation, leadership, etc.
