Modi, while summing up his fast at Bhavnagar, challenged the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to achieve even five per cent growth in agriculture sector compare to Gujarat’s 10 per cent agriculture growth.

“The Congress-led UPA Government has tried to derail Gujarat’s development path. I challenged them to achieve half of what Gujarat has achieved in the last 10 years. But they will not be able to do this as they play vote bank politics,” said Modi.

The CM also talked about his government’s development in tourism and other sectors. He said Kalpsar project would be a reality during his tenure in the state. State is going to become an auto-hub and within the next five years, there will 50 lakh cars be produced in the state every year.

Gohil, who represents Bhavnagar in the State Assembly, said Modi made plenty of promises to people of Bhavnagar, but did nothing to fulfil them.

“The people of Bhavnagar were very angry over false promises of the CM and it was reflected in the presence of people at the Congress meeting. Now,people have realised that the CM was squandering public money for his personal publicity. He is working to promote interest of a few favourite businessmen only,” Gohil said.
