Chief Minister Narendra Modi,who holds annual brainstorming sessions with the states IAS and IPS officers to discuss development challenges,will now have a similar meet with retired IAS,IPS and IFS officers.
The Chief Minister has instructed to call a special conference of all living retired IAS,IPS and IFS officers of the state to mark the Golden Jubilee year. The idea is to have a day-long debate and interaction on the various development issues. Around 500 retired civil servants have been invited in this first of its kind conference, a highly placed source in the Chief Ministers Office (CMO) told The Indian Express.
The conference is likely to be held from April 21 to 25 either in Ahmedabad or Gandhinagar. The main topic of the conference will be better governance and development of the state. Written suggestions have been invited from these retired officers, said the officer.
NRIs,politicians to be felicitated
The state government has planned to invite 50 non-resident Indians of Gujarat origin from across the globe who have made remarkable contribution in various fields. Similarly,50 politicians of Gujarat origin are also likely to be felicitated by Modi as part of the states Golden Jubilee celebrations next month.
