The School of Electronics and Mechanical Engineering (EME),Vadodara may get affiliation with M S University (MSU) for its Masters in Technology course from the next academic session.
MSU Vice-Chancellor Prof Ramesh Goyal said the EME,which offers several courses in weapon technology, had been trying to tie up with the varsity for quite some time now, therefore,I have taken interest in this.
EME offers advanced courses equivalent to Masters in Technology,diploma-level and certificate courses. Recently,EME had arranged a visit for the MSU Syndicate members during which we found pedagogical techniques were almost the same. There can be exchange programme between MSU and EME as well, Goyal told Newsline.
He further said that apart from Vadodara,Hyderabad also houses an EME school, which is affiliated with Osmania University and Jawaharlal Nehru University.
A Syndicate member, meanwhile, said that EME officials do not want to affiliate themselves with a distance education learning institute. MSUs affiliation with EME is still very premature,so we cannot comment on it. The process has been initiated but a lot of technicalities are involved right from sanctioning of PG Council to several other bodies, such as board of studies. Our next visit (to EME) is scheduled for September 22, he added.
He further said there was no point in discussing this issue with Syndicate members and that the procedure should be followed with the Postgraduate Council and Board of Studies.
