NCP MLA crosses over to BJP

BJP national vice-president Purshottam Rupala welcomed the new entrants.

NCP MLA from Devgadh Baria Tusharsinh Kanakasinh Maharaul on Monday joined the BJP along with Devgadh Baria municipality president and supporters,besides former VHP Chaitanya Maharaj,who is the son of late Shambhu Maharaj.

BJP national vice-president Purshottam Rupala welcomed the new entrants.

Maharaul is the son of former Congress minister Urvashi Devi,the daughter of erstwhile prince of Jaideepsinhji of Baria who had joined the BJP.

“In the last five years,I have seen development under the rule of Chief Minister Narendra Modi in the entire state and hence I decided to join BJP,” Maharaul said. NCP has two MLAs in the state Assembly.

Meanwhile,15 NCP workers,including party’s Vadodara unit chief Nishant Rawal and vice-president Deepesh Jain joined the Congress.

NCP’s state unit president Jayant Patel Bosky said those who joined the Congress were already suspended from the party.
