(File photo)The National Institute of Design (NID), Ahmedabad, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Prime Ministers’ Museum and Library (PMML), New Delhi, to extend its design expertise for various design interventions at the Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya.
The collaboration encompasses the design of exhibits and exhibition galleries, promotional materials and collaterals, public facilities and utilities, ticket counters, signage systems, and overall branding of the Sangrahalaya, the NID said in a statement.
The Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya stands as a tribute to every Prime Minister of India since Independence. It presents a narrative record of how each leader has contributed to nation-building and the strengthening of democracy over the past 75 years.
“Through this collaboration, the NID Ahmedabad seeks to contribute its design acumen towards enriching the visitor experience at the Sangrahalaya, thereby strengthening India’s design footprint in projects of national significance,” the statement stated.
The NID said that in alignment with the Prime Minister’s vision of making India Atmanirbhar in the field of design, the NID has initiated several strategic collaborations with government ministries and institutions for promoting design-led research and innovation. As a part of these initiatives, NID Ahmedabad has recently signed MoUs with the National Forensic Sciences University, Ministry of Minority Affairs under the Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Kaushal Samman (PM Vikas) Scheme, and the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises under the Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Scheme.
