Now,it will take less time to reach Sanand

In A bid to ease the flow of traffic between Ahmedabad and Sanand,home to Tata’s Nano car project,the state government has decided to widen the five km stretch of S G Highway between Thaltej Gurudwara and Sanand crossroads.

In A bid to ease the flow of traffic between Ahmedabad and Sanand,home to Tata’s Nano car project,the state government has decided to widen the five km stretch of S G Highway between Thaltej Gurudwara and Sanand crossroads.

According to officials in the urban development department,the 17-metre roads will be widened to 24.5 metres to convert it into a six-lane stretch.

According to officials,the vehicular speed will go up by at least 10 km per hour with the widening of this stretch,and the travel time between Ahmedabad and Sanand will also get reduced.

Two flyovers have been planned at the Iskcon Circle and Sanand crossroads.

The flyover at Iskcon will be one-kilometre long and 25 metres wide. The Sanand crossroad flyover will be 1.4 kilometre long and cost Rs 24 crore.
