RMC got over 8K applications to regularise unauthorised constructions

An official release said RMC has received 8,058 applications seeking to regularise unauthorised additional constructions done after getting building-use (BU) certificate for the respective buildings.

Over 8,000 property owners of Rajkot have so far applied to get their unauthorised constructions regularised under the Gujarat Regularisation of Unauthorised Development Act, 2022 by paying an impact fee, Rajkot Municipal Corporation said Tuesday .

An official release said RMC has received 8,058 applications seeking to regularise unauthorised additional constructions done after getting building-use (BU) certificate for the respective buildings.

They include 2,681 applications from the central zone of RMC, 1,482 in the east zone and 3,895 in the west zone.

The window opened by the state government on October 17 last year is set to complete a year. Originally, the window was to remain open only till February 16. However, it was extended by four more months and subsequently, by another six months. Now, the last date of filing an application to avail the benefit of the scheme is December 16, 2023.
