Yet another positive case of swine flu was reported from Bharuch on Monday,even as a suspected case from a slum area in Vadodara was admitted at the Sir Sayajirao General (SSG) Hospital.
This is the first such case where a six year old girl from Faramji compound,a chawl behind Vadodara railway station,has been admitted with swine flu like symptoms of cough and cold.
SSG Medical Superintendent Dr Atul Saxena said,The source of contraction of H1N1 virus is not known,but her swab samples have been sent for diagnosis.
Besides,a 12-year-old boy from Bharuch,who was kept on home quarantine on August 17,has now been tested positive for swine flu,taking the total number of positive cases in the city to nine.
As per the case history of the boy,his 20-year-old brother had returned from Pune,and after showing symptoms of swine flu,his younger brother and mother were also kept on home quarantine.
Now,while the older boy has been tested negative,the younger brother has been tested positive with swine flu.
They were kept on home quarantine from August 17 and the swab samples were sent for analysis the next day.
The boy has already completed his course and is well out of danger, said Dr Saxena.
