Suspected case of swine flu reported in Rajkot

A suspected case of swine flue was reported in Rajkot on Monday.

A suspected case of swine flue was reported in Rajkot on Monday. The private hospital where the patient is admitted has sent the blood samples for tests to New Delhi and the reports are awaited.

“It’s a case of hi-grade fever. The patient has just come from abroad and we are monitoring the situation very closely,” said Nilendu Pandya,the medical superintendent of Dhakan Hospital.

The hospital wants to keep the identity of the patient under wraps as it is not a confirmed case of swine flu.

“There are no symptoms of swine flu yet,but as the person has been suffering from hi-grade fever and has just returned from abroad,precautionary measures have been taken. The reports are expected by Tuesday evening,” said Pandya.

It is learnt that the person had been to Malaysia. —ENS
