Virji Thumar remanded in police custody

The court of Judicial Magistrate (first class) – Keshod has sent former Congress MP Virji Thumar and his eight associates,earlier arrested on charges of forgery,cheating and breach of trust,to two days police custody. The Junagadh police had arrested them following a complaint that the Amreli-based Saurashtra Kishan Vikas Trust,in which Thumar and other accused are holding trusteeship,had collected deposit money to the tune of lakhs of rupees from farmers on false promise.
