The Lokayukta police in Karnataka are conducting raids across the state on Tuesday targeting nine government officials over alleged irregularities and corruption. The raids on officials from key administrative departments, including Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited (BESCOM), police training school, health, revenue, excise, forest etc., are being carried out in multiple districts, the police said.
Among those raided in Bengaluru were Lokesh Babu, Superintendent Engineer (Electrical) of BESCOM, East Circle; Suresh Babu, Revenue Inspector of Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) Ward No 197 in Vasantapura; Krishnappa, Tax Inspector of BBMP’s Yelahanka Zone; and M C Sunil Kumar, District Health Officer of Bengaluru Rural.
In other parts of Karnataka, the raids targeted Nanjundaiah, Deputy Superintendent of Police from the Police Training School in Channapatna; Ramappa, Superintendent Engineer/Assistant Commissioner for Development at Kalaburagi Mahanagara Palike; Ramesh, Excise Inspector from Raichur; Suresh, Assistant Conservator of Forests in Chitradurga district’s Hiriyur; and Laxman, an official working in the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department of Gadag, the police said.
