6-year-old raped in Mohali

An unidentified man abducted a six-year-old girl on Tuesday morning and sent her home in the evening after raping her,the Mohali police said on Wednesday.

An unidentified man abducted a six-year-old girl on Tuesday morning and sent her home in the evening after raping her,the Mohali police said on Wednesday. The incident took place in Industrial Area,Phase VIII. The accused had allegedly lured the victim to an unidentified place on the promise of a chocolate.

The rape came to light on Wednesday morning when the girls mother,while changing her clothes,found bloodstains on her private parts. She immediately took her daughter to the Civil Hospital where doctors confirmed rape after a medical examination,the police said. The minor has been admitted for treatment.

On getting a medico-legal report from the hospital,the police took the statement of the minors father,who said the girl was playing outside their house had gone missing around 11.30 am on Tuesday.

As the family was still searching for her,the girl came back around 6.30 pm but failed to recall who she was with or where she had gone,the father told the police.

As the girl was home,the family did not report the matter to the police then and approached them only after spotting blood in her clothes. A case has been registered against the unidentified accused. A senior officer said they would soon hold an identification parade of the suspects living in the vicinity.
