Chandigarh: The School of Public Health,PGIMER,in collaboration with Drug De-addiction Centre,is organising a campaign against tobacco by focusing on the harmful effects of smoking. The campaign comes ahead of World No Tobacco Day,on May 31. The campaign will be held at three public and three private randomly selected schools from Chandigarh. Thursday was the first day of the campaign and was organised at Vivek High School,Sector 38.

CHANDIGARH: The Bharatiya Yog Sansthan will conduct a free Yoga camp on Sunday,May 20 in Town Park,near Yavnika,Sector 5,Panchkula from 5.30 am to 7 am. The Sansthan,having its head office in Delhi,is conducting the camp to celebrate its 17th establishment day on May 20. Members of the Sansthan from Chandigarh,Kurali,Mohali and Panchkula will participate in the event,according to Bhuvan Chandra Bhagat,Zonal incharge of Sansthan.

commits suicide
Ambala: The body of a youth,identified as Ram Pal (28),was found hanging at his residence in Nasirpur,Ambala City,on Thursday. The actual cause of death has not be ascertained but residents of the locality suspected the incident to be a case of suicide.
Bus crushes

AMBALA: In a road accident at the Agarsein Chowk in Ambala City,a factory workers identified as Kumar Kant was crushed to death under a Haryana Roadways bus. The deceased was returning from the factory on his bike when he lost control while trying to manoeuvre around a rock on the road. He fell in the middle of road and was crushed under the front wheel of the bus and died on the spot. The driver and conductor of the bus escaped after the accident.
