The body of an unidentified man in his thirties was found in a jungle near ISBT Sector-43 on Wednesday morning. The Chandigarh police have registered a case of murder against unknown persons and investigation is in progress,police said.
According to it,a rickshaw-puller Badri Paswan,who had gone inside the jungle to urinate,saw the man lying in tattered clothes in a pool of blood. As he went closer to the body,he noticed the stab injuries on the victims stomach and chest and that the veins inside his stomach were protruding. Some clothes were also lying next to his body, said a police officer investigating the case.
Paswan immediately informed police officials at the Sector-36 police station and the victim was taken to GMSH-16 where he was declared brought dead. There were three stab injuries on the victims back,chest and stomach. The victim must have died due to excessive bleeding,however the exact cause of death can be ascertained only from the post-mortem report, the officer further said.
As nothing could be found on the victims body,he has not been identified yet. We have registered a case of murder and further investigation is on, the officer added.
