The ensembles boasting of ‘shuttle work’ lace are appealing. Heavily embroidered unstitched suits are also a part of the collection and they,thankfully,don’t contain unnecessary sequin work. What sets Khanna apart is her casual and semi-formal range that includes kaftans,‘Pakistani’ tunics (in very soft fabrics) and block print suits. while Khanna also specialises in “tailored” Western wear such as jumpsuits and dresses,her work on the salwar is noteworthy. Giving Patiala salwars a miss,she offers the “lungi-salwar”,harem pants with embroidered cuffs,straight fit pants and salwars with gota and lace borders. “There’s always a lot of emphasis on the kurta of a suit. I wanted to play up the salwar that can be teamed with any upper,” says Khanna,who is working with multiple fabrics as well. “To break the monotony,I have used patches of different fabrics that work well together,” explains the designer who is also working on building online sales.

“My target would be the working woman who has no time to make store visits. I will customise garments and deliver at home,” she says.
