Briefcase with Rs 5 lakh stolen from car,driver tricked with Rs 20

A briefcase containing Rs 5 lakh and some important documents was stolen from a car parked outside a hotel in Sector 26,Chandigarh,on Wednesday afternoon.

A briefcase containing Rs 5 lakh and some important documents was stolen from a car parked outside a hotel in Sector 26,Chandigarh,on Wednesday afternoon.

The incident occurred at around 1 pm,when Rohit Aggrawal,32,a resident of Industrial Area,Phase-II in Panchkula,left the briefcase in his car and went to the hotel.

The driver was sleeping in the car,a white Toyota Fortuner. After some time,the driver woke up to some noise of someone hitting the car. He went out of the car to check for the source of the noise but did not find anybody.

Then,he saw a twenty rupee note lying on the road. He took the note and went across the road to have tea,leaving the car unlocked. When the driver returned,he found the briefcase missing.

A case has been registered at the Sector 26 police station on charges of theft and cheating and investigations are going on.

Rohit Aggrawal,the owner of the car and the briefcase,is a businessman who owns a factory in Panchkula.
