New Delhi:The Maruti Suzuki India will resume full production at its Manesar plant,which faced labour troubles recently,by the middle of this month,the company officials said. “By the middle of October,normal production will begin from Manesar. At present,production for all models have started,” Maruti Suzuki India Chief Operating Officer (Administration) S Y Siddiqui told reporters here on the sidelines of a CII event.

Rs 19.5 crore to be spent on child care

Chandigarh:The Haryana government has decided to spend Rs 19.5 crore to promote and ensure rehabilitation of children in need of care,as well as protection of juveniles,who are in conflict with the law. These children are those who are at present in the four-state run observation homes in Ambala,Karnal,Hisar and Faridabad and a special home in Ambala.

TMC demands arrest of former ministers

Chandigarh:Trinamool Congress northern region in-charge and Rajya Sabha MP KD Singh has sought immediate arrest of former Haryana Transport Minister Om Prakash Jain and state’s former chief parliamentary secretary Zile Ram Sharma. Jain and Sharma were accused in the murder of Karam Singh,former Sarpanch of Kambopura village,Karnal,and the CBI had registered a case.

16.8% hike in tax collection in Haryana

Chandigarh:The Haryana Excise and Taxation Department claims to have recorded 16.8 per cent increase in tax collection till August,during the current financial year by collecting more than Rs 8,499.8 crore,as compared to Rs 7,277.17 crore collected in 2011-12.

Haryana to introduce ‘lessons in law’

Chandigarh:The Haryana government has decided to introduce ‘Lessons in Law’ in the curriculum of schools and colleges,from the next academic session. To provide legal literacy to youth,the Haryana State Legal Services Authority in collaboration with the education department has opened legal literacy clubs in all private educational institutions.

HSEB exam postponed

Chandigarh:The Haryana School Education Board (HSEB),Bhiwani,has rescheduled the senior secondary first semester examination of Social Science from October 7 to 10. A spokesperson of the Board said the decision to postpone the examination was taken because in many districts,the examination centres were to be used for the recruitment examination of the State Bank of India.

Police station gheraoed in Karnal

Chandigarh:Jhamba village residents on Thursday gheraoed a police station in Karnal to protest against police inaction in a double murder case where an elderly couple was killed on May 22. Karnal SSP Shashank Anand refuted the allegations.
